Sakura Ferroalloys — commercial intelligence for ferromanganese export
How FrictionZero turned trade data into buyer mapping, landed-cost modelling and freight benchmarking for a ferroalloys producer. A method and deployment example.
Sakura Ferroalloys (Malaysia) is a ferroalloys producer in the mining-and-metals sector. This is a look at the method we deployed — not a performance scorecard. A quantified case study is pending client-approved metrics; until those exist, we publish none.
The commercial problem
The brief was not simply "find leads." It was to identify real ferromanganese buyers and markets, and then understand where the producer could actually compete once freight and delivered-cost differences were taken into account. In commodity export, a buyer you can't reach profitably isn't a buyer.
What we deployed
FrictionZero combined buyer mapping, competitive landed-cost modelling and freight benchmarking — turning raw trade data into a commercially useful view of target markets and counterparties. The output is a prioritised picture of who to pursue and where the economics work, rather than an undifferentiated list.
Why it's here as method proof
We name this engagement because it's real and public. We don't attach performance numbers to it because none have been client-approved — and we never invent them. Treat this as evidence of how we work on commodity-export commercial intelligence, not a quantified outcome. When signed-off metrics exist, they'll appear here.
For a fully quantified example, see the DS4U case study, or talk to us about your market.
